My most important childhood dream was becoming an author. Almost 40 years (yes, a lot of years) later, I'm finally stepping out of my comfort-zone and putting myself out there into the unlimited possibilities of the world wide web.

Hi, I'm Audrey

In the beginning of this year, I added some new loungewear to my closet and was researching for weeks – I found some beautiful, sustainable and ethical made lounge sets. I ended up with so many saved pictures, bookmarks and even notes. I wanted to share with you my most favourite finds and brands. So here we go, here’s the guide with some loungewear who is absolutely street-worthy and can be worn during all these zoom-calls – add some golden jewellery to elevate the look and you will receive a lot of compliments, I’m sure.

Araminta James

Araminta James is from Australia and the clothes are inspired from the life on the beach. I absolutely adore the range of colours of the loungewear and the waffle and terry towelling cotton. They’re working with artisan partners and using only natural fibres like cotton and linen.

I saw their loungewear somewhere on Instagram and thankfully, saved the picture. It was one of the first sets I loved, but at this moment, I wanted to still go on with my search. Because this was my absolute favourite after comparing it too many other sets, I ended up buying the Waffle Coffee Sweatshirt and the Waffle Lounge Pants Coffee. I love the colour, a warm coffee tone and the waffle fabric is so so comfortable. Every day in the evening, after a walk with the dog or a workout, I’m honestly excited to get into these two pieces. I’m a firm believer that natural fibres, organic cotton, linen, etc. are so much better for your skin. I’m planning to write a whole new blog article about it, why and how my skin was reacting to syntethic fibres.

Mate the Label

MATE is another brand I absolutely love. The clothes are made sustainable in Los Angeles, with non-toxic, natural and organic materials. They’re working on circularity, this means, you can return the clothes to them after you were wearing them and they will recycle them into new products. I like this idea very much, especially when you know how much clothes are landing in landfills. They also have an impact report on their website with four pillars – planet, products, people and progress. I always look out on a company website for reports to their sustainability and what their targets / accomplishments are.

They have a huge variety of colours and different styles, from joggers to wide leg pants, tees, shorts and leggings. And for all of the Moms here: they also have a kids-section with joggers, sweatshirts and tees in these lovely earthy tones.

Amour Vert

Another brand, I discovered while I was searching for stepping up my loungewear-game. Amour Vert provides a lot of information on their website about their sustainability, fabrics and where the clothes are produced. 97% of their items are made within miles from their office in San Fransisco. I guess, I have a thing for brands from California because my husband is from there – and maybe one day, we will go back there (or I would say, divide the time between the US and Switzerland).

They ship to some countries internationally – Canada, Australia, France, Germany & UK. I’m living in Switzerland, but I order a few things in Germany or the EU – because of this, I’m using a service in Germany who receives and stores my packages. So I have a German address to ship things there.

Their loungewear is elevated and elegant. I absolutely adore their wide leg pants and overall their timeless, classic staples.

Nu-in

When you’re searching for something more budget-friendly, then this brand is your go-to! NU-INs designs are very stylish, hip and the prices are on the lower end. Yes, buying ethical and sustainable fashion doesn’t mean per se that the items are more expensive.

This brand is relatively new and I was checking them out for a while before I bought something there. Maybe it was the lower prices that I was sceptical first, but I was reading more and more about them and this was mostly positive. So I ordered last week some items and I have so say, I was so impressed about the quality, the packaging and the shipping was super super fast.

They have a huge variety of items, from jeans to loungewear to dresses. They’re making it easy to buy all your clothes in one shop – like you’re used to by the fast fashion websites.

Kotn

This brand is a certified B-corporation – it means, that they’re undergoing a certification process to verify the social and environmental performance. Here’s the definition and link directly to the website of Certified B Corporations

Kotn provides a lot of transparent information about their factories, farms and social impact projects. It’s a Canadian company who sources their organic cotton in the Nile Delta in Egypt.

They provide you with all the most needed basics, great tees, dresses and underwear. Their size range is from XXS to XXL. What I love the most about their underwear? The beautiful models are women like you and me – with stretch marks and all the gorgeous imperfections we all have – and we should all cherish.

Naadam

Are you searching for sustainable and ethical cashmere loungewear? Then you’re on the right place by Naadam. Founded in 2015, they were going straight to the source of the world’s finest cashmere, Mongolia’s Gobi Desert, and they’re working directly with herders to bring you high-quality and sustainable knitwear to fair prices.

My recommendation – watch the video about their story on the website. It’s absolutely fun and packed with all these feel-good moments you love to see – you will love to wear their items even more after watching it.

They also have a 75 USD Cashmere sweater, an absolute basic must-have in your wardrobe.
