When Vivaia contacted me if I would have interest in getting a pair of their shoes, I didn’t hesitate a second. I had seen the shoes several times before on people I follow. and I was immediately hooked when I was reading more about their brand and philosophy.
About the brand
Vivaia was founded 2020 with the mission to create shoes who are comfortable yet stylish, eco-friendly and responsible. To have a positive impact on the world and the customers, is their mission. And so was the name VIVAIA born – the double “V” and “A” stands for the shoes worn by the people and the “I” is for the plastic bottles who are used to create the products.
By cutting out retailers, they are reducing the costs and all of their articles are shipped directly from their warehouse. They pass the savings to their customers and they are able to sell their shoes to a fair price.
Some of the shoes main features are:
- recycled materials, eco-friendly
- Seamless design, zero waste
- natural latex insole
- machine washable
- insole arch support provides stability
A few months ago, I got the Aria 2.0, ballet flats who are simple, chic and and elegant. With their bold look, you can wear them with practically everything from jeans to skirts to shorts. They always look stylish. I’m wearing them all the time in and around the house because they are the most comfortable flats ever. With their padded insole, they give a surprisingly good support to your feet. You know this ballerina flats who are cute but after a few hundred meters, you have the feeling you’re walking directly on the bare ground? Not with them. One thing I have to mention also is that they’re great for a wider footbed. One of my best friends have wider feet and she has always problems to find comfortable shoes, mostly she’s wearing only sneakers. But lately she was promoted and she had to step up her shoe game and I recommended Vivaia shoes to her. And they fit perfectly, she wears them all the time now for her job.
What I also love on them: you can throw them in the washing machine and they come out good as new. Take the insoles out, put the shoes in a laundry net, add a gentle detergent (please use a eco-friendly one) and wash them on the delicate cycle with cold water. Leave them out and dry in shade – put the insoles back and you’re ready to go. I washed my pair at least 10 times and the knit who’s made out of six recycled water bottles, is still intact and with no signs of tears. Especially by these lighter tones it’s so beneficial when you can wash them! And for a Mom of a toddler these shoes are basically the perfect ones, speak about washable and comfortable.
The only thing I discovered after all these months of wear them so often, they have taken the shape of my feet. But it’s a knitted material, so that’s pretty normal and predictable.
When I first open the package, I saw that they’re using 100% recycled cardboard. Big win! No useless plastic bag. And the box is so so cute. The first thing you’re reading when you open it, is the statement: “step into concious comfort. Thank you for helping our ocean and recycling 6 plastic water bottles, preventing them from breaking into millions of microplastics and harming marine life. I put the box away and reused them for small things who were floating around in my office.
And I got a second pair for fall, the Daphne Pointy Toe Mary Jane Flat. The black with the camel contrast seams are perfect for my fall and winter wardrobe, the bow is insanely cute and they have a 10mm low heel who’s perfect for running around the whole day with my active toddler. They’re coming with an eco-friendly deodorizing insoles and with anti-slip rubber outsoles and these pointed flats also made out of 6 recycled water bottles and a knitted material – from bottle to beautiful.
I will style them with jeans, black wide-leg pants and all my trench coats. The design is sleek, timeless and very chic. And same as the Aria 2.0, these shoes are very comfortable and I’m walking around as I would go barefoot. The best feeling!
SUSTAINABLE. STYLISH. STRAIGHT TO YOU.
With their wide range of styles and colours, from flats to heels Vivaia is covering all the shoe needs. Another huge plus is the knit material they use for almost of their shoes, it hugs to your feet and you an say goodbye to blisters.
And more good news: Vivaia offers now also knitwear and beautiful cashmere pieces. They’re using sustainable materials like natural fibres, organic sourced wool and when they’re using synthetic fibres, then its made from recycled polyester or polyamid.
What do you think about them? Do you already own a pair of Vivaia shoes? Let me know in the comments.
With love – always,
Audrey
